LOW WATER PRESSURE

Siskiyou Pump Service specializes in diagnosing and resolving low or no water pressure issues, ensuring consistent water supply for homeowners.

WELL PUMP REPAIR

We diagnose and repair water pump issues swiftly, ensuring consistent water pressure for your home. With most pumps lasting 15-20 years trouble-free, you can count on reliable performance.

PUMP REPLACEMENTS

Insufficient pump output can cause low pressure. We assess output and discuss replacements. Dry wells may also be a factor.

WATER TESTING

Siskiyou Pump Service conducts thorough water testing to detect and address contaminants, ensuring clean and safe water for daily use.

DRY WELL SERVICES

Siskiyou Pump Service offers solutions for dry wells, such as drilling new wells or using holding tanks. Low water pressure may indicate mechanical issues rather than a dry well.

HOLDING TANKS

A holding tank stores water for peak demand, offering an effective solution in areas with fluctuating water levels, often surpassing the need for drilling new wells.

WELL CLEANING

There are many reasons why our customers decide to clean their water wells.  Often times the well pump has failed due to large amounts of debris in the well, in order to protect the investment of the new pump equipment the debris has to be removed from the well.  Another common reason for well cleaning is lower than normal water production in the well due to bacteria or biofouling.  Mineral or scale build up can also affect water production, and we have the ability to clean a well that has been oil contaminated.

We also perform well and whole home chlorination to sanitize and disinfect the well pump equipment and water pipes in the home.

The process of properly cleaning a water well includes many steps which require specialized equipment and training.  Typically the well pump equipment is removed from the well and a series of brushes are used to scrub the inside of the well casing and the well bore.  Many times, specialized cleaning solutions are used while “brushing” the well.  After brushing the well, compressed air is used with a cleaning nozzle to allow us to vacuum the loose debris from the bottom of the well. We can also “surge block” the well which often helps to clean the water veins that feed the well.  Once all of the debris is removed, new equipment or the existing well pump equipment can be installed back into the well.

Answers at Your Fingertips: Frequently Asked Questions

The required gallons per minute (GPM) depend on several factors, including the number of people in the household and irrigation needs; however, a 10 GPM flow rate is commonly used for submersible pumps in southern regions.

When appropriately sized for residential use, a well pump typically lasts between 10 and 15 years, depending on usage and maintenance.

The size of the well pump needed depends on the depth of the well and its production capacity, with residential pumps usually ranging from 1/2 HP to 5 HP.

Your water system’s pressure should generally be set between 40 to 60 PSI for optimal performance in most residential systems.

A pump running without building pressure may indicate a worn-out pump or a possible hole in the pipe leading down the well.
